The 2016-17 school year at Conway Cradle Care is going to be one of exciting changes! We are opening a new classroom, hiring a new teacher, expanding our Mentoring Program, and involving more volunteers to engage the community in our mission to help teen parents succeed educationally, as parents, and as independent, empowered individuals. Our classroom expansion will change our child to staff ratio from 6:1 to 5:1. This expansion will give us a greater ability to focus on each child’s individual development and needs. This is my second year as Executive Director and the importance and impact of this organization continue to astound and inspire me. The success stories of our 2016 graduated parents inspire me the most, and we continue to hear from to this day. Many of them are going to college, living in their own apartment or have found jobs that help support themselves and their child. I am extremely proud of our graduates for fighting and overcoming the challenges that stood in their way. In our returning students I have also seen a leap in personal growth and maturity. I love seeing the progress they have made. It’s also rewarding not only to see their progress, but to also see the progress our little ones have made over the summer! Our little ones have grown so much over such a short span of time! The Conway Cradle Care Board of Directors, staff and myself are excited for the opportunity to empower teen mothers and fathers who have chosen to continue their educations in hopes of a brighter future for themselves and their child. Teaching for today so they may be empowered tomorrow, Kelsey Powell Executive Director
